My heart desired to be with a Mr. I journaled and prayed for him. I dated, I had friends, but it wasn't until November of 2009 did I reconnect with my forever Mr. We were friends through college, ever since I can remember being there, I remember Parker. We double dated a few times and had some wonderful conversations, but it was time yet.
We both separated after college, I spent time in North Africa and Parker spent time in South America. The Lord was drawing us to Himself and letting us go deeper and more intimate with Him before connecting us together.
I will never forget receiving a message from Parker November of 2009 letting me know he had moved to Nashville (my hometown) and wanted to reconnect. At the time I was living about a hour from his hometown in Durham, NC. Thankfully it was around Thanksgiving and we could see each other. We went on a casual friend run as I was training for my first marathon. That was the run that changed our lives forever! I heard his heart. He desired to church plant, his heart beat for missions, we talked about the unreached of the world, and more than ever I heard his heart for our Savior.
It was history after that run.
I was planning on going to midwife school in the Philippines in the Spring and Parker was planning on going to Korea to teach. We sought the Lord and felt like He was calling us to pursue one another.
{Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.}
The Lord's way stood and in October of 2012 we said "I Do."
It has been a journey ever since. Life has not, is not, and will not always be easy. But, I am so thankful I have a strong Mr. that stands besides me and points me to Jesus every single day. I am so unworthy of him and never deserved such a loving and kind man, but by His grace we are one!
I am madly in love with him.
